RAF Equestrian Chairman, Wg Cdr Russ Gleeson, has taken part in a commemorative ride ‘The Last Hurrah’ around the battlefields of WW1. Covering 100kms over 7 days Russ, dressed in a 1918 RAF Uniform, rode his own horse Merlin, a part bred Cleveland Bay, in period tack. Along with 21 other riders the pair visited some of the most iconic sites and battlefields of the war and laid wreaths on behalf of the association and the RAF.
